Bequests
Every gift, large or small, contributes to our long-term financial wellbeing, enabling us to continue to provide services to Canterbury’s young people for years to come.
Any information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and we will honour your wishes, whether that be giving a gift privately or being acknowledged for your generosity. We will use our best endeavours to ensure that 100% of your funds will go towards constructing and running the Youth Hub.
Please get in touch with us to arrange a time to meet in person and have a confidential and no obligations conversation about how your legacy could be of assistance.
Your guide to leaving a gift in your will
Talk to your legal provider
Talk to your legal advisor about the type of gift that will best suit you and your estate.
Share of your estate
Also known as a residuary gift, the residue of your estate is what remains of the estate once all of your loved ones and charges have been paid. A residuary gift could be a percentage or the whole of the residue of your estate.
Family Trust
If you have a family or inheritance trust in place, you may also wish to consider naming a charity as a beneficiary or include them in a ‘Memorandum of Guidance’ or ‘Letter of Wishes’ so that your intentions to leave a charitable gift can be honoured by the Trustees.
Talk to your family
You may want to discuss your wishes with key family members and those close to you before confirming your intentions in your will. You are also welcome to invite your family to come and see the Youth Hub for themselves.
Fixed sum
Also known as a pecuniary gift, this is where you leave an exact sum of money to specific charities.
